Guozijian Street was designated as a Beijing-level cultural relic protection unit in 1984. It is the only street with decorated archways preserved in Beijing. There are four archways in the street: each of the east and west entrance has a street archway titled “Chengxian Street"; on the left and right side near the Imperial College, there is a street archway titled "Guozijian".
